MOTORCYCLE WORLD RECORD ATTEMPTS IN SOUTH AFRICA

MSA, the Governing Body of motor sport in South Africa, has applied to the FIM to run World Speed Record attempts for various categories of motorcycles (ranging from Vintage and Veteran, circuit racing, motocross, off road motorcycles, enduro and quads) in 2006. The FIM will officiate and control these attempts and to ensure that as many motorcycle owners, distributors and importers as possible have the opportunity to participate and to attempt to set World Records,, the attempts will be run over a three day period. The exact dates are still being awaited from the FIM, but will probably be in late September. The venue likewise is still to be advised.

We are at present a little confused as to the categories mentioned in the above statement, which comes from MSA, but as more details become available, they will be posted on this site.
